
Keeping Your Wafers Spotless During Curing
If you’re running a Class 100 cleanroom, you already know the drill: there is zero room for error. One tiny flake of dust or a bit of outgassing from a heating element, and your entire batch is scrap. It’s a nightmare. That’s why we stopped messing around with standard materials and switched to high-purity synthetic quartz for our infrared lamps and reflectors.
Why the quartz actually matters
Here’s the thing about cheap glass or low-grade quartz—it can’t handle the heat. When you hit it with intense thermal cycling, those impurities start to break down. You end up with those annoying volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and that “foggy” look on the lamps. Our high-purity quartz doesn’t do that. It takes the temperature swings in stride without cracking or shedding particles. It stays clean, and your wafers stay cleaner.
Getting the heat where it belongs
A lamp is basically useless if the reflector is junk. We’ve spent a lot of time on the geometry here to make sure the heat flux is aimed exactly where it needs to be: the wafer surface. Because the energy is focused, you hit your curing temperature way faster. Plus, your HVAC system doesn’t have to work overtime to cool down the room. But a heads-up: that concentrated energy means the housing gets hot. Fast. Just double-check that your cooling fans are up to the task, otherwise you’re looking at melted sockets or brittle wiring.
Fitting them in and keeping them clean
We kept the footprint tight. These are designed as drop-in replacements, so you can swap them into your existing arrays without having to rip out the wiring in your entire rack. To keep things truly “zero-pollution,” we ditched the adhesives and cheap plastics. No glues, no shortcuts. Everything is either brazed or mechanically fastened. One last tip: when you’re swapping these out,**do not touch the quartz with your bare hands.**The oils from your skin bake onto the surface, creating hot spots that’ll burn the lamp out way too early. Grab some lint-free gloves and keep it pristine.
